The expansion development project at MIA is well on target and rapidly taking shape giving the terminal building a new semblance which reflects not merely a revamped structure but equally an elegant and innovative welcome to tourists and locals alike.

An impressive new convenience outlet has just begun its operation in the Welcomers Hall, or the Arrivals area as it is most commonly known. “Eight till Late” is a conglomerate of retail services intended to cater for last minute and late night requirements. The modern open-plan establishment spread over 280 square metres comprises a pharmacy, perfumery and skincare, florist, stationery, toyshop, grocery, bottle shop, confectionery, newsagent and bookshop, as well as travel. This latest MIA concession is being run by Quality Catering and Retail Services Ltd and will be open from 7.30am till 10.00pm daily including Sundays.

This new development at MIA has caused the Welcomers Hall Cafeteria to be relocated just opposite with a new access to the exterior which allows some seating and a smoking area outside. The “Connections” cafeteria is now completely refurbished offering a wider range of food and beverage products.

The range of eateries at MIA will moreover be further enhanced with the various establishments which will be operating at the Food Court on the minus one level.

Burger King is in fact the first of these catering outlets expected to commence operation prior to the Christmas festivities.
