Police have said that a collision took place last night between two cars in Mgarr Road, Xewkija, during which a 69-year old woman was grievously injured.

The collision, which happened at about 8.30pm, was between a Volkswagen Polo driven by a 19 year old man from Gharb and a Ford Escort driven by a 73-year old man from Xewkija. The 69-year old woman was a passenger in the Ford.

An ambulance took the woman to Gozo General Hospital for treatment.

Police investigation is still ongoing.
