Police have said that 56-year man from Switzerland has died after finding himself in difficulty while diving at Dwejra in Gozo.

The incident happened at around 11.30am this morning, the man, who lived in Marsalforn, was with two other divers who brought him out of water.

The man was assisted by a medical team but sadly was certified dead at the scene, Police said.

Duty Magistrate, Dr Paul Coppini, was informed about the case and appointed an inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing.
