Police arrested a 23-year-old man in Gozo on Monday in connection with the possession of drugs.

The man, who is from the Sudan and lives in Munxar, was arrested by the Drugs Squad Police.

In a statement, Police said that following a search of his home, the man was found in possession of an amount of cannabis resin and cannabis seeds.

Police investigations are still ongoing, whilst a Magisterial inquiry has been appointed into the case.

Update – The man was arraigned at the Gozo Court later on Wednesday, where he admitted to the charges brought against him and was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and a €465 fine.
