The National Blood Transfusion Service has put out an urgent call for blood, types O Positive, O negative and A Negative.
The Service warned that if donations are not received immediately there is a risk that operations will have to be cancelled in Gozo and Malta.
The Service is inviting Gozitans to answer this urgent call and please make a donation today, Tuesday, the 14th of January, at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, between 1:00pm to 5:00pm (last registration until 5:00pm).
The Centre is located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.
The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
After today, the next chance to make a blood donation in Gozo will be on Sunday the 19th of January.
