Support is needed for healthcare professionals who are working hard to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus and may require alternative accommodation in the interest of public health.
With this in mind, the Ministry for Health is inviting owners of accommodation facilities who are willing to offer property, in Gozo or Malta, free of charge or at a cost, to be used to accommodate Healthcare Professionals who opt not to return to their family home after work due to the fact that they are exposed to Covid-19 and do not want to put family members at risk.
The Ministry said that the accommodation may be in the form of self-catering apartments or hotels which offer kitchenette within the premises. The accommodation should also have a washing machine or the possibility for laundry services.
Apartments/rooms should preferably be comprised of single-bedded rooms, although twin and triple rooms will also be considered.
Options provided at free of charge must include utility bills, where employees will be held responsible for using such services, the Ministry said.
Proposal including the details of location, number of beds available and details of contact person are to be forwarded to rita.tirchett@gov.mt
