There have been 21 new Covid-19 cases recorded in the past 24-hours, with 87 recoveries, health authorities advised that there have also been 32 additional migrants that have tested positive over the last 24-hours. Today’s new cases are still being investigated.

From yesterday’s 15 cases, health authorities said that 2 were family members of previously known cases, 2 were direct contacts of a known case and 4 were work colleagues of positive cases and 4 were contacts from social gatherings. No details have been provided on the other 3 cases.

2,040 swab tests were taken during this time period, with 190,593 having been taken since the start.

There are now 471 active cases, with 1,883 cases in total. 1,400 have recovered and there have been 12 deaths.

As of today at 10am, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has said that for Malta, the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is 94.6 It is showing the total number of cases as 1,862. Malta is still in second position in the EU/EEA and UK. Spain is at the top with 205.5.

Public Health Authorities said that anyone who needs to take a test should call 111 to set an appointment, even if they do not have any symptoms. It is to be noted that due to the large volume of calls, it can take some time to get through.

All swabbing centres are open every day, including the one in Gozo, however appointments must be made on the above number.
