During today’s meeting of the Standing Committee for Gozo Affairs, in which developments on Covid-19 in Gozo were discussed, Prof. Charmaine Gauci advised that their are 9 active cases in Gozo, none of them requiring treatment at the Gozo General Hospital.

Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri asked Prof Gauci to update the public on the number of active cases in Gozo in her weekly Covid-19 briefings, to “avoid misinformation and rumours,” this request was accepted, he said.

The Minister pointed out that the 9 active cases in Gozo equate to only around 2% of the active cases in the country.

Minister Camilleri welcomed that fact that Prof Gauci praised the collaboration that exists between the health department and the Ministry for Gozo in order to control the pandemic on the island.

Today for the first time the Parliamentary Committee for Gozo met at the Innovation Hub in Xewkija.

As well as Prof Charmaine Gauci, also present for the meeting were Dr Nadine Delicata and Mr Joseph Fenech, Supt Maurice Curmi and a representative from the MTA.
