All bars and social clubs must remain closed as from this Thursday. This measure will remain in force until the 1st of December at 6 am.
The Deputy Prime Minister announced the measures in a statement on Monday, which also said that “while snack bars and kiosks may remain open, they may not, in any instance, supply, offer or sell any type of alcoholic drinks to customers and must close between 11pm and 5am the next morning.
Also on Thursday, the maximum number of people who can gather in a group in public spaces will be reduced from 10 people to 6 people.
This means that in public spaces, groups of more than 6 people are prohibited including in queues and at bus stops, unless the social distance of two metres between them is maintained. This measure does not apply to persons living in the same residence, the statement said.
The fine for non-compliance on groups will be increased to € 200, however if the penalty is paid before the proceedings before the Commissioner of Justice are initiated, the fine will be reduced to €100.
These measures are coming into force after consultation with the Superintendent of Public Health in order to further limit the progress of Covid-19, the statement said.
