The National Blood Transfusion Service has said that it would like to encourage more Gozitans to please consider donating blood during the next session, which is on Sunday, the 22nd of November.

The Service thanked all those who donated blood during the session last Tuesday.

Sunday’s session will be held at the Blood Donation Centre in Xewkija, between 8:00am and 1:00pm (last registration until 1:00pm).

The donation centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.

The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand. Also, please encourage others to donate if possible.

Anyone currently waiting to take a Covid-19 test, or who has had the test and is waiting for the result, cannot give blood.

The Service stressed that due to the Covid-19 situation all necessary measures are being taken to protect anyone who comes to donate blood, as well as the professionals who provide them with a service.
