Gozo Channel timetable and bus service times over the New Year

A reminder to everyone regarding the Gozo Channel timetable and bus service times over the New Year.
Gozo Channel will be suspending its ferry service on New Year’s Day between 12.00pm and 3.00pm.
This is being done in order to allow Gozo Channel employees, who will be on duty on the day, to lunch with their respective families.
The company said that on New Year’s Day, the 12.00, 12.45,13.00,13.30,13.45, 14.00 and 14.30 hrs trips from Mgarr to Cirkewwa and the 12.15, 12.45, 13.30, 13.45, 14.15, 14.30 and 14.45 hrs trips from Cirkewwa will not be operated.
This means that the last trip from Mgarr will be at 11.30am, while the last trip from Cirkewwa is scheduled for 12.00 noon.
In the afternoon, the service will resume at 15.00hrs from Mgarr to Cirkewwa, while the first trip from Cirkewwa to Mgarr will be conducted at 15.15hrs.
Change in bus times on New Year’s have also been advised by Malta Public Transport. It said that Sunday schedules will apply in Gozo and Malta on New Year’s Day, Friday, the 1st of January.
The public transport service will be temporarily suspended on that day between 12:00pm and 3:00pm, with the last buses departing between 10:00am and 11:30am depending on the route.
Service will resume from 3:00pm to 4:00pm until 9:00pm, with the last buses departing between 7:30pm and 9:00pm, depending on the route.
Schedules will operate normally throughout the holiday period, including Saturdays and Sundays, but up until Thursday, the 31st of December, route X300 from Cirkewwa to Valletta and route X1A from Cirkewwa to Msida will not be in service.
In the same days, route 43 from Valletta to Naxxar will run on the Sunday schedule, with an hourly departure.
MPT also advised that the company’s ticket booths and the Call Centre will be closed on New Year’s Day.
