Over 50s can now apply for Covid-19 vaccine through registrationAnyone above the age of 50 who wishes to receive the Covid-19 vaccination can now apply through a system of registration.

This was announced today by Health Minister Chris Fearne, who also advised that if the vaccination programme continues at its present rate, it is predicted that herd immunity will be achieved in the country by the end of June, instead of September.

It was explained that registrations can be made online on http://vaccin.gov.mt or an SMS can be sent with the applicants ID No. to 99180044 for those who wish to be vaccinated in Gozo, or on 99180045 for vaccinations in Malta. Within a few days of receipt applicants should receive a return SMS with details of the appointment.

Dr Fearne said that family doctors can also now administer the vaccine at the request of the patient. Anyone registering with their doctor should not register again by another method.
