A reminder, that as from today, until the 30th of September, no demolition and excavation works is permitted within tourism designated areas which are listed below for Gozo.

The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) has identified an extensive list of localities and streets where such works will not be permitted.

The Planning Authority said that, “if there are any streets that the public wish to see included in next year’s Tourist Areas List, please send a request to the MTA via an email to your Local Council for onward transmission to the Malta Tourism Authority by the 31st of August.”

Any illegal demolition and excavation works carried out between the 15th of June – 30th of September, in the identified localities and streets, may be reported to the Building and Construction Authority on telephone number 8004 9000 during office hours and after office hours on 99098855 in Gozo and 99637508 in Malta.

The MTA is the Competent Authority to identify the localities and streets where demolition or excavation works cannot be carried out.

The MTA said that it reserves the right to change or amend the list of streets as it deems necessary.
