Meet Hugo with the smiling face. Hugo has had a tough time so far, he was found at the beginning of the year by Animal Welfare Gozo, abandoned and with a badly broken back leg.

Gozo SPCA took over his care and said as Hugo was still only a young dog they took the decision to operate on the leg, and thanks to Vet Ariana Galea he has now fully recovered.

Anyone who met him a few months ago at the Centre will remember a “very” bouncy tal fenek, However, Gozo SPCA said that Hugo has now matured into a “lovely gentle and submissive dog.” He’s around 18-20 months old, chipped and neutered.The Centre explained that Hugo’s not quite pure breed tal fenek from appearance (a black nose !) but he does have the fun character of the breed.

Gozo SPCA said that Hugo’s ideal home, where he would really love to be, is with someone who will enjoy going on long walks with him, but also where he can cuddle up on the sofa and underneath the duvet!
