The Stroke Team at Gozo General Hospital has organised educational sessions for students at State Schools, the Bishop’s Conservatory School, and the Gozo Seminary to mark World Stroke Day.
Stroke affects 13 million people all over the world and it can happen to anyone, the hospital said.
World Stroke Day is observed on the 29th of October, to raise awareness on stroke signs and symptoms, how to reduce the risk of stroke, and benefits of timely access to emergency medical care.
The theme of the sessions for students – Young Heroes on World Stroke Day – was to raise awareness on how to respond in an emergency and to encourage the young generation to share this knowledge with their loved ones.
