The Gozo Organic Agricultural Movement, or GOAM for short, will be holding its first introductory meeting in Gozo this Sunday.

A number of students who attended the course “Award in An Introduction to Organic Horticulture (MQF 1)” (October 2021-May 2022) held by Mr Mario Salerno joined together to found the Gozo Organic Agricultural Movement

The intention is for GOAM to be registered as a voluntary non-Governmental organisation, the first to be founded in Gozo, with the aim to unite farmers and producers using organic systems of agriculture and to defend, protect, and promote their interests.

GOAM said that it has at its heart the protection of soil, plant, animals, humans and the planet, all considered as one interdependent system and encourages an agriculture system in tune with living ecological systems and cycles.

It functions on principles of fairness and care in agriculture in order to safeguard the health and wellbeing of present and future generations and their environment.

Local farmers interested in knowing more about GOAM are invited to this introductory meeting on Sunday, the 3rd of July, starting at 8:30am, in the Qala Local Council Hall.

All are welcome. Attendance is free of charge.
