Mgr Alfred Xuereb, Pope Benedict XXI Secretary, has celebrated his 25th anninversary of his ordination. He thanked all those who attended the commemorating mass at St George’s Basilica in Victoria and requested them to pass any donations direct to the Arka Foundation.

Later Mgr Xuereb visited the Arka Respite Centre at Ghajnsielem, where he was shown around by Mgr Emanuel Curmi, the director of Arka Foundation. Mgr Xuereb praised the staff’s dedication towards persons with disability residing at the Centre. He commented that he was also impressed by the modern facilities that the local Church provides to the clients and their families at this Centre.

Towards the end of his visit Mgr Xuereb presented the sum of €3,060 which were raised during this commemorative occasion. Mgr Curmi thanked the Pope’s Secretary for such a generous gesture and hoped that other people would follow his example. He promised Mgr Xuereb that he shall be remembered in prayers.

On behalf of all staff, committee and management he wished him success in his sterling work at the Vatican.
