27 Police Recruits from the 44th Basic Training Course successfully completed their 6-month accredited training (MQF Level 4).
On Wednesday these recruits were appointed Police Constables during a passing out parade at the Academy for Disciplined Forces in Ta’ Kandja, attended by Minister for the Interior, Security, Reforms and Equality Byron Camilleri.
The “PC Mark Farrugia Award,” which goes to the recruit who distinguished himself the most during the course, was presented to Kevin Cachia.
Whilst congratulating and welcoming the new Police Constables, Police Commissioner Angelo Gafà emphasised that wearing the Malta Police uniform is a privilege which brings along pride but also great responsibility.
He said to those present, “be proud to wear this uniform as much as I am, in order to carry your duties in line with our mission statement that of providing a professional and trusted policing service to ensure safety and security in partnership with the community.”
Apart from members of the Malta Police, the Academy and their families another group of recruits currently undergoing the 45th Basic Training Course were present and watched on this passing-out parade observing and eagerly waiting for their turn to march on the parade ground in the next months.
