Following the examinations held earlier this month, the Diocese of Gozo has announced the list of those Gozitan altar boys who are expected to serve in the Vatican next summer:
Mikiel Theuma and Mason Camilleri (Nadur), Mattia Farrugia and Nathaniel Spiteri (Xaghra), Kurt Mercieca and Thomas Quinto (Kercem), Krystiano Mercieca (Ghajnsielem), Nicholas Bugeja (Capuchin Friars, Victoria), Jan Sacco and Aiden Zammit (Xewkija), Luke Spiteri (St. George, Victoria), and Nathan Dingli (Nazarene, Xaghra).
Next summer, the boys, who will offer liturgical services in the Vatican, take part in the symbolic ceremony of the Vestición with the red vestment.
The ceremony will take place in the Chapel of the Choir of St. Peter’s Basilica, where the altar boys will take their vows, and after the sash is Blessed it will be given to them so that they formally become altar boys of the Basilica of Saint Peter.
The Diocese of Gozo wished them well, while also thanking all the altar boys for their service.
