The Minister of Justice, Public Consultation and Family, Chris Said has presented copies of the book ‘The Gozo Civic Council: The story of a Regional Government’ to the library at the University of Malta (Gozo Campus).

The presentation took place during a recent visit made by the Minister. He was accompanied by the author of the book, Monsignor Dr Joseph Bezzina and the President of the Gozo Civic Council, Dr Anton Tabone, who organised the 50th anniversary celebration of the Gozo Civic Council last year.

The book deals with the move towards the achievement of a Regional Council responsible for the internal affairs of the island, the Civic Council’s work since it was establilshed in April 1961 and also lists several projects and initiatives undertaken until it was abolished in 1971.

Copies can be purchased from the Banca Giuratale, Independence Square, Victoria or at 3, Castille Place, Valletta. The price of the book is €15.
