The Xaghra Local Council has announced that it will be holding the fourteenth edition of the annual Christmas Concert which this year will be entitled “…Puer Natus Est….” The concert will take place on Friday, the 28th of December 2012, Feast of the Holy Innocents, at the Collegiate Basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady in Xaghra Gozo and starts at 7.00pm.

For this year’s edition, the Xaghra Local Council invited the Voci Angeliche Choir (the Xaghra Parish choir) to perform a selection of popular and traditional Christmas Carols. The choir and the orchestra will be under the direction of Mro. Dr John Galea.

During the concert donations will be collected in aid of the Community Chest Fund so that the spirit of generosity is felt during Christmas time.

The Council said that it is “grateful for the invaluable support of the Xaghra Archpriest Mgr Carmelo Refalo together with the Most Reverend Chapter and Clergy of the Collegiate. As well as to the Ministry for Gozo which is the main sponsor of this cultural event.”

Financial sponsorship for the Concert is generously being provided by Gozitan and Maltese businesses and individuals.

Everyone is invited for this concert and entrance is free. Those attending are kindly asked to be seated by 6.45pm.
