Two dignitaries from the Vatican City recently visited the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu. Archbishop Guido Pozzo, Almoner of the Office of Papal Charities and Bishop Giuseppe Sciacca, Secretary for the Governor of State of the Vatican were accompanied by Fr. Jesmond Manicaro, personal secretary to the Auxiliary Bishop of Malta Mgr. Charles J. Scicluna.

The Sanctuary Rector Fr. Gerard Buhagiar welcomed the visitors on their arrival and took them around the Sanctuary where they stopped to pray in the Chapel of Our Lady.

Before leaving the Sanctuary they viewed the ‘Visitors’ Book’ and Fr. Rector presented them with a book on the history of the sanctuary entitled ‘A Temple to Our Lady Ta’ Pinu Basilica,’ written by Fr. Charles Cini SDB featuring photographs by the renowned Daniel Cilia.
