Update: An elderly man is in danger of losing his life after a traffic incident which happened at about 10.00am this morning in Qsajjam Street, Xlendi.
The Police said that preliminary investigations found that the man, 83, was driving a Seat Ibiza when he lost control of the car and crashed into a bus shelter and low wall.
The elderly man, who was extracted from the vehicle by members of the Civil Protection Department, was driving a woman, 84, both of whom reside in Kercem.
The elderly couple were taken to Gozo General Hospital, where the driver was certified to be in a critical condition and the woman to have sustained grievous injuries.
