The International Day Against Drug Abuse is commemorated on the 26th of June, which also coincides with the 23rd anniversary of the OASI Foundation of Victoria.

Over the years the Foundation said that it has always played an active part in the work of education, awareness and prevention against addiction, with the emphasis towards prevention of drug abuse and alcohol.

There is currently a debate concerning judicial system and drugs, and the OASI Foundation said it “felt the need and the duty to organise a National Discussion with special emphasis on this topic.”

The National Debate will be held Thursday, the 26th of June 2014, at the Grand Hotel, Mgarr, Gozo and the Moderator will be Dr Andrew Azzopardi.

The Programme begins with registration at 9.00am, with the discussion due to start at 9.30am The highlight of the activity will be divided between two panels: a panel of experts and a panel of opinion leaders.

There are also several distinguished guests invited to participate in the event.
