Giochi – the it’s a knockout games which are being held in the villages around Gozo, including Qala, Zebbug, Xaghra, Xewkija, Sannat, continued last night in Victoria.

The winners from Victoria were the Ventures team with 21 points followed by the Dudes with 20 points, the Greens also with 20 points and Tuhom who also finished with 20 points, all those taking part were from Victoria.As indicated by the results, the teams were very well matched and the winners were only decided in the final game of the tug of war, with all those taking part struggling valiantly until the end.

The games comprise a variety of fun and water games and each of the events also showcased performances by local singers and dancers which provided an entertaining evening for the numerous families who attended these events.

The winners from each village will be taking part in the final which is to be held tomorrow, the 11th of September, in Marsalforn at 7.30 pm, however if the weather is bad the finals will be postponed until the following week.

Sponsors for the events are TcTc, Arkadia, Odyssey Restaurant, Gozo Express and Errea. The team winning the final will receive an Android Tablet for each member of the team, 2nd place team members will receive a voucher from Arkadia, 3rd place team members a voucher from Odyssey, 4th place team members a voucher from Gozo Express and 5th place team members will receive a voucher from Murella Restaurant.
