The Electoral Commission has advised that all those interested in attending a short course in one of the categories mentioned below, it is receiving on-line applications through its website.

On the day of the poll:

1. Polling Place Officer,

2. Chairperson; and

3. Assistant Commissioner

During the counting of ballot papers:

4. Calculator,

5. Senior Supervisor,

6. Supervisor; and

7. Counting Assistant

It is expected that each course would be spread over different days and times. The courses will be free of charge and besides standard operating procedures, communication and leadership skills will also be addressed.

Those who will successfully complete a course would be granted preference in selection when the actual calls for engagement are issued as an election approaches.

Interested persons must apply online through the Electoral Commission's website: www.electoral.gov.mt from today until the 31st of October, 2016.

For authentication purposes applicants will need to be in possession of their Identity Card and a valid email address during the application process.
