Christmas 2020 programme of events at Il-Hagar museum in Gozo, includes exhibitions, concerts and a talk.

Mattia Pretti is the subject of a talk on the 12th of December, starting at 10.30am: Professor Keith Sciberras, Head of the Art and Art History Department at the University, presents new insights about Mattia Preti. The occasion also serves as the launch of a book on this master, at a special price with others.

Two concertinos will be offered on the 12th and 19th of December respectively, an Instrumental & Vocal Recital and the Laudate Pueri Choir’s annual appointment, both starting at 11.30am.

The museum said that during this period, various items will be on exhibit: a traditional specially-set up Presepju, the Gozo Philatelic Society’s Yuletide cards and stamps, and Pasturi crib statuettes, all open until the 6th of January

But the highlight is surely George Scicluna’s PAINtings, distributed over five sections of this cultural centre, which is accompanied with number 10 in the Il-Hagar GEMS series of full-colour books, this exhibition is open until the 12th of January.

The museum is located in St George’s Square, Victoria. Entrance is free seven days a week from 9am to 5pm. Closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
