To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the death of Archpriest Martin Camilleri S.T.D (Archpriest of Nadur Parish between 1910 – 1921), the Nadur Parish has published a set of two Post Cards.
These cards which are released in a limited edition, can be obtained from the Nadur Parish Office for the price of €3 for a set of two cards.
Last year, an organising Committee was set up by the Nadur Parish for various activities and initiatives to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the death of Archpriest Kan. Martin Camilleri – (8.9.1921 – 8.9.2021).
One other such initiative is an 86-page publication which contains details about Fr Martin and life in the village of Nadur 100 years ago, including a collection of photographs and images. The book can be obtained from the Parish Office in Nadur.
The book was published by the Nadur Parish in collaboration with the Nadur Local Council earlier this year.
The Committee said that Archpriest Camilleri was a hard working Parish Priest. Among his sterling work, he was the mastermind of the enlargement of the Nadur Basilica and its interior decoration.
He died at a young age on the 8th of September 1921 and up to the present day Nadur residents are still benefiting from his hard work and initiatives.
