8 new Covid-19 cases were found overnight with 19 recoveries, the authorities said. 10 Covid positive patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, including 1 patient in ITU.

There have been 459 deaths since the start of the pandemic. The number of active cases in Malta and Gozo is now at 279.

Health Authorities said that the number of vaccines administered is 850,536 up until yesterday, of which 29,990 are booster doses.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has advised that it will be reporting figures on a weekly basis – every Thursday. As of the 14th of October, it shows the number of cases recorded for Malta is at 37,358 and the number of deaths showing is 459. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is at 49.56.

The ECDC said that the above data are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the proceeding week.
